BABY SHOWER FOR AIDA!!!!!

Planning this baby shower was a lot of fun...however it was a TON of work! It turned out so good though...better than I even thought it would. Almost all of the ladies of the church showed up so we had a FULL house! :) we played 3 games
1. "what's in your phone?" kind of like the what's in your purse game but with what is in your cell phone..baby related of course. :)
2." The price is right." This was a lot of fun. I bought all the items like diapers, rash cream, lotion etc... and you had to price all the items and come up with the closest total without going over. We had a lot of close guesses but the winner ended up only being 58 cents off!! That was pretty amazing.
3. "My Water Broke" game. I froze little plastic babies in ice cubes and once your baby was free of the ice cube in your drink you had to yell "MY WATER BROKE" first lady to have their water break won a prize..haha it was so funny since the woman who won was our pastors wife!

The big event of the shower was the diaper raffle. Julia told me while I was planning the shower that the only thing she really needed was diapers. So I found this cute idea of doing a diaper raffle on pinterest. For every 20 diapers you brought other than newborn size you got your name entered in a drawing. Everyone participated and Julia got TONS of diapers! :)

For food we did a Yogurt Bar. We had yogurt with fresh fruit to go on top. It was really good and everyone loved it! :)

Head bow station....Everyone made a head bow for baby Aida and it was a lot of fun creating them.

Sugar rimmed glasses. This adds such a fun touch to a party without being hard at all! You just swipe a lemon wedge around the rim and dip it in sugar! Super easy and it looks great!!

I love the chevron purple and pink straws...just sayin' :)

Party guests!

I asked everyone to bring a book instead of a card and so she got so many cute children's books for AIDA!

Personalized onesie! Loved it!!

GENDER REVEAL!!!!

BOY OR GIRL?????? I voted Girl at the last minute because that was my first instinct when I got pregnant but I kinda thought it would be a boy because the pregnancy was SO opposite!!!!!

Prep for the party was super easy...I originally was going to do a large party and invite people from the church to come but I just felt tired and decided to just have family there. So much less prep and food! :)

I love how the chalkboard turned out! Thanks Pinterest!

Old Wives Tales....What am I having?? The ratio was more boy!

CAST YOUR VOTE!! BOY OR GIRL???? BOW OR BOWTIE!?

We are so thrilled to be having another little girl. Her name is EMMA JOY ELISABETH. It means Complete Joyful Gift From God....And that is what she is to us already! We can't wait until she is in our arms. Counting down the weeks! 20 down 20 more to go... (or 21 since I'll go late)

OWNING A HOME!

OWNING A HOME is so nice...however it is A TON of work!!!!! Things break that you have to fix and not the landlord! If it's not one thing it's another.

BEFORE.... I hate shrubs and the color of the house looks WAY better in photos. It was grey but with mint green showing through and white showing through other places. It was pretty hideous.

AFTER...We painted the outside white and painted the shutters red....removed the HIDEOUS shrubs and landscaped. I love it :)

We have done so much work to the house and we still have a lot of work but it's coming along...as they say "Rome wasn't built in a day" :) We bought the house at a really good price, and I have always wanted a fixer-upper just like this one ever since I could remember. It has been a lot of fun doing whatever I want to the house to personalize it to my taste.
BEFORE DINING ROOM....the brown paneling took like 3 coats of paint but we finally conquered it! :) It was the room that took the longest to paint. You can't see the ceiling very well but it was soooo old nasty drop ceiling tiles.

AFTER DINING ROOM.... Huge improvement I must say :) I still need to paint the furniture and stuff but it's mostly done!

BEFORE KITCHEN....it's not a very good photo but you can tell it's HIDEOUS! The wall border was BEARS! LOL like it couldn't have been worse border....but A LOT of paint and hard work and we transformed it :)

AFTER KITCHEN....I love my kitchen :)

Random photos of the moving in process...

The main working crew! :)

We still have a lot of work left, but working a little at a time is fun...even though I get impatient at times because some things don't get done in fast enough time for my taste....but until next time!!! Stay cool :)

TRUSSELL BABY #2

I just have to say....being pregnant the second time around is so much nicer than the first. I know what I'm doing! The guesswork has been done, and yes thinking of labor still makes me want to throwup but at least I now know what to expect and I know what I'm doing. (It's a LIE when they say you forget the pain of childbirth....you don't! Just thought I would throw that out there. haha )

ANNOUNCING TO THE FAMILY! We waited to announce it to the family until I was 12 weeks along going on 13 so that I was out of my first trimester. I wanted to wait longer but I was sick every day and we were living at mom and dad's so I couldn't exactly hide it all the time. Here is how we announced it to them. They weren't surprised though....they all "knew" yeah, ok whatever. :)

Side view of 13 weeks...YAY end of 1st trimester and morning sickness!!

DIFFERENCES BETWEEN 1ST PREGNANCY & 2ND PREGNANCY
1. MORNING SICKNESS!! AGHHH oh my goodness this stuff is awful and I didn't even have it that bad. I was sick every morning for about two hours and I never threw up. With Zoe I wasn't sick at all hardly.
2. I DON'T WANT SWEET STUFF AT ALL!!! With Zoe I didn't crave sweet stuff but I liked my ice cream every now and then...this baby, oh my word ice cream is sick and anything sugary sweet holds no appeal.
3. I AM SHOWING SO MUCH SOONER!! With my first I didn't show until about 26 weeks. This baby I feel like I'm getting bigger every single day. This summer is going to be long and hot!
4. I AM SO GROUCHY!!! People make me mad, I am so testy...don't get in my way and don't cross me. It is so terrible! I feel so bad but I just need to stay away from people, they annoy me....haha
5. I AM BURNING UP ALL THE TIME!!! I never got hot with Zoe, I waited in anticipation for my blood to double because that would mean I would be warm right? WRONG! I never was warm....I was cold all the time! This baby I am dying of heat....I am hot all the time and I do not like that very much. We finally got an A.C. unit for our bedroom so that helped A LOT and now I can sleep peacefully. :)
HALF WAY THERE!!!

There are a lot of other differences but those are the most noticeable to me. I don't know if that means a boy or what...WE FIND OUT ON FRIDAY!!!! Yay I am so excited.....Stay tuned for the GENDER REVEAL! :)

I love my shirt that Bro-In-Law made me :)
